Getting More Referrals

Referrals are your biggest money-makers. Most programs will track who your referrals are and pay you a percentage of what they make. That means you can make more money faster! That's the goal, right?

So how do you get referrals?

I'm learning most of this myself, so if you have any more suggestions that I didn't cover, please post it in a comment!

1. Refer your friends
2. Social Networks
3. Advertise on other PTC sites
4. Guaranteed Signups
5. Click Exchanges
6. Autosurfing
7. Blog
8. Other Tips

1. Refer your friends

You can send e-mails to your friends and relatives to share in your discovery of the latest money-making sites. However, let's face it. Your friends list is not going to be that long. You may get a few responses, but it's not going to be very effective.

2. Social Networks

Places like Myspace and Facebook are a great place to fin a lot of people who are interested in the same things you are. This can help you find a more targeted group of people and get better results. You have to be careful though, because people don't like spammers. Posting a million bulletins and leaving messages and comments to check out your site may make your friends aggrivated, or your account could be frozen.

Other networking sites such as DollarSpace, Lazzeo, and Bizpreneur are great to advertise because they are targeted to people who want to make money online. These sites encourage promoting your money making websites! They even pay you for every blog, comment, and forum you post. It's not only free advertising, they PAY you to advertise. Then you can also meet up with more advertisers who can introduce you to more places to advertise. I've met some really great friends who have helped me out a lot through these paid networking sites.

3. Advertise on other PTC websites

PTC sites thrive because of advertisers. I know a lot of you don't like to pay for advertising, but sometimes you have to. Prices for advertising can start around $1 and work it's way up from there. The best part about paid advertising is that you KNOW it will increas traffic to your website. If you look at the right site at the right time, they may be promoting special advertising specials where you can get even more for your money. The most effective advertising is the Links and the Ads section of the page. For these you pay per click and the clickers get paid to click. Some sites allow people to click on your link a second time after a 24 hour period, but a lot of sites only allow unique hits. That is another point to look at before you pay for your advertising. It's always better to get unique hits because you can get your site out to more people.

4. Guaranteed Signups

This is the ONLY GUARANTEED way to earn referrals. However, this can cost money. You can go to a forum where you can exchange referrals. You can sign up for a site and in return that person will sign up for yours. However, it may be difficult to find someone who isn't already a member and you aren't already a member of their site. It is possible, and it is free. A slightly easier way to do this does cost money. Some websites will offer the option to "buy signups". You can buy credits from 20-50 cents per referral and then a person can sign up on your website. They do not get credit until they are verified, so it is in fact GUARANTEED that you will recieve that set amount of referrals that you paid for.

5. Click Exchanges

This is another feature that can either be found on PTC sites, or a site on it's own. It's also called Manual Surfing. How does it work? You go to the site and it will offer a ratio. This ratio can vary from 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, or 1:2. If it's a 1:1 site, for every site you visit, you will earn a credit. You then use these credits to put your own website through the click cycle. The downfall is that you have to sit there and click on the credit button every 10-30 seconds. This is Free Advertising!! A lot of people surf without really looking at the ads, but considering this is free advertising, it's worth it. It really does produce results.

6. Auto-surfing

This is by far the EASIEST way to get more traffic to your website. There are trafficing websites that will refresh the page for you automatically so you don't have to click a credit button. This means you can sit back, relax, and earn credits towards your own advertising campaign. The best way to do this is to open more than one window so you can do other things while it surfs. I wouldn't suggest running more than 2 auto-surf pages at a time because it starts to slow down the computer. If you don't want to have a lot of pages on your menu bar, try using tabs. I'm not sure if Internet Explorer offers the Tab feature, but I know Mozilla firefox does! The downfall to this approach is the fact that a lot of people auto-surf without watching the pages. This means that although people are visiting your site, they aren't actually viewing your page. But, again, this is free advertising. There are pros and cons to every type of advertising.

7. Blogs

Blogs are a great way to advertise anything. However, you don't want to make your blog full of advertisements and no content. That won't attract many people to revisit your page. You can use this blog to give reviews of pages, or write other information while including referral links in your posts. This is what I'm trying to do :). There are a few blogging communities that can help you target viewers. You can also find other blogs that are related to your own and arrange to link back to eachother's blog. Now that you have a lot of referral links in one place, you can advertise your blog instead of each individual website that you are a member of. Remember to update often with new content. You always want your reader to come back for more!

8. Other Tips

While advertising with links and ads, it's a good idea to write something other than the site name. You should write some of the benefits that may not be found on other sites. For instance, Paid4Clicking.com is having a $500 referral contest. When you write the title of the site that will appear to your clickers, write Paid4Clicking.com - $500 referral contest. That will catch more attention than if you just write Paid4clicking.com. Also, while you are advertising, look at what other advertisers are linking to. For example, everyone is promoting AdBux. If you spend all your time promoting adbux, you won't get a huge response because they have most likely already joined under someone else. Make sure your website provides something different than all the rest. It's also good if the site you are promoting has a neat and simple yet attractive appearance. The majority of your clickers will have seen millions of PTC sites. Most of the important information on the site should be on the top half of the screen. In 10 seconds, not many people are going to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see what kind of benefits this site offers.

That's all for today. I hope you found this information useful. If you have anything to add, PLEASE leave me a comment. Thank you so much!
